Up for very reluctant sale is a bundle that will make your mates very envious of you... I have 3 x Daiwa Basia DF 12ft 3.25lb Rods in EXCELLENT condition, having been used no more than 8 times. Anyone familiar with Daiwa Infinity Magnum Taper rods will know how good they are, the Basia goes one step further with its X45 carbon wrap making the rod even slimmer and lighter. 3.25lb is a great test curve as a general all rounder, good for close range but equally at home chucking 4 oz leads for distance. 50mm Fuji ringing to 16mm tip, these rods are the best of the best from Daiwa.
The rods are £500 new so you can be assured of quality, UK produced from start to finish with top notch carbons. Using the Basia rods presented a problem...it made my marker rod feel like a lead pipe by comparison, due to them being incredibly light. Paired up with a Basia reel or Tech Mag, you genuinely hardly notice you're holding it. So I ended up buying a fourth Basia Rod for a marker rod, in 3.75lb t/c. Its a perfect tool for marker work, so light when plumbing about. An added bonus is you can use it alongside the 3.25's to fish with if you need to fish at 160+ yards with a 5oz lead, and the rods look identical so no mismatch on the pod/buzzer bars. All rings are identical in spacing/size.
Despite being 3.75lb, its surprisingly nice in the tip but you can feel features with it perfectly. Not many people will have such a luxurious marker rod! Naturally, it would be daft to have a spod rod that didn't compliment the Basias, and the Longbow DF Spod and Marker 12ft 4.25lb does this with ease. Its super light and weighs around 13oz, but has awesome power. I use a large Spomb with one and it copes with ease. 50mm ringing again for frap reduction. These are designed for marker and spod work, although I found it perfect for spodding, the spod version being a bit too stiff.
The Longbow DF will allow you to bait up for ages without feeling worn out due to its lightness and great action. These are over £220 new and as with the Basias, is in great condition with very little use. So to recap, there is one hell of a rod collection there for the serious angler who wants a set of genuinely decent uk built rods which not only look the nuts, but perform outstandingly.
Honestly, you will notice the weight, or lack of, immediately when picking one up. And fishing with them is really eye opening. I'm wanting to sell as a bundle, so not really keen on splitting up. However I MAY consider selling the 3.75 and the Longbow DF together separately if the offer is good enough. Manchester based and unfortunately I'm not willing to post, I just don't trust the couriers...so collection only. Genuine reason for sale, I simply do not use them enough to warrant keeping them. I have a set of Nash Scopes and they get more use due to my local venues being small and overgrown, so my ten footers are more suited.
Therefore its come to the point where I can't keep the Basias any longer as they get used once every three months or so! Serious enquiries only please. I'm not interested in swapping for some Greys rods, or reels, a quad bike or a puppy. I will gladly answer any questions regarding the rods capabilities or specs. You can see more here about them... http://www.daiwasports.co.uk/product/basia-df-carp email me if you're genuinely interested and I'll get back to you... mattchew34@yahoo.co.uk
